Cycling holiday in Hyssna

Day 1 The Hyssna Route, 38 km

The 38 km Hyssna Route is a good ride for experienced cyclists and is right on our doorstep. Starting from Kvarnen I Hyssna you can choose your own route and difficulty level. Leave your bags at the hotel and we’ll give you a map, packed lunch and some sightseeing tips to take with you. Follow the trail along the shore of Lake Lilla Hålsjön. By the bathing area there’s a path up to Torkels Gömma, a cave in the rocks that’s well worth a visit.

Don’t miss the stunning view of Stora Hålsjön from Liagärde Nature Reserve, where there’s also a Lovers Leap precipice.

There are several picnic spots and bathing areas to stop at, like Bua Strand near Rydal. End the day back at the hotel, which was once the old village smithy. Relax in the warm pool and the wood fired sauna, listening to the babbling brook next to you.

At Kvarnen we focus on using local produce where possible, and our restaurant is a member of A Taste of West Sweden. It’s always worth a detour.

Day 2 Kvarnen – Stomsås Beech Wood

After a tasty and fortifying breakfast head out once again, this time to Bokskogen Stomsås Nature Reserve. Enjoy a coffee under the canopy of the trees. If you find something interesting just pause for a while, do a bit of exploring, then pedal your way onward.

Our establishment is  Nordic Swan Eco Label certified, and we are members of A Taste of West Sweden.
